NBC's full episode player sucks

I spend way too much time watching TV online.

There, that’s out of the way.

Now, what this means is, I’ve spent the majority of the past 6 hours (and a not-insubstantial portion of the past 4 days in general) watching this season of 30 Rock online at nbc.com.

I’d say that about 50% of the time I run into a glitch that forces me to watch the same commercial OVER and OVER in order to get to the place I was at in the episode, or I can’t get past a certain point in the episode without it skipping back to some other point.  And sometimes it just freezes up altogether.  Oftentimes, after watching one episode, it’ll immediately start another UNSEQUENTIAL episode.  So the only way I can be sure I’m watching the correct episode is to go down to the menu and click on it, thus subjecting myself to yet MORE advertising before I can watch the show.

I realize that there must be advertising in order to make it financially feasible for networks to offer programming online, but, please, fix your bugs.  Unless NBC is just doing this on purpose to make advertisers happier, in which case I’m just going to newly dedicate myself to the virtues of sidereel.com, regardless of the often low-quality video feeds.
